Sales Psychology Coach. Founder of The Lost Transition.
Robert Blakely, known as The Blakester, is a sales psychology coach and the founder of The Lost Transition. He trains entrepreneurs and network marketers in the psychology of buying — how people decide, what makes them say yes, and how to sell without pressure or tricks. He has been training people since he was 16 years old.
Robert was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. His first job was newspaper salesman at 15. At 16 and 17 he worked at McDonald's — fastest counter person, fastest drive-through, became a crew trainer, and played the Hamburglar at events.
At 18, his father told him to do something with his life, so he joined the military — basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, then back to El Paso, then stationed in Germany. He served five years and got out in Colorado.
After the military he worked light mechanic jobs and oil changes, then found his way into sales. He landed in Corpus Christi, Texas knocking doors — and he was decent at it from the start, closing around 50%, which is higher than most. But he wanted more, so he studied what actually happens in a buyer's head. His closing rate climbed all the way to 100%. He ended up closing in Spanish and training sales teams in cities across the country and in Canada. All told, he has knocked on hundreds of thousands of doors and talked to hundreds of thousands of people, and the teams he trained were responsible for millions of dollars in the energy sector.
Later he moved into network marketing, which taught him something different: it is not pitching, it is attraction. It is becoming the kind of person people want to follow. That is what he teaches now.
Robert teaches sales psychology through a system called The Buying Line — the moment in every conversation where a buyer decides. His whole approach comes down to understanding people instead of pressuring them. No scripts. No manipulation. Just knowing how buying decisions really get made.
Every Monday he runs a free weekly training called the Monday Mastermind, open to anyone building a business. For people who want closer coaching, there is the Inner Circle — $37 a month, with live coaching sessions on the 1st and 3rd Saturday.
It started in the military. Robert was the make-shit-happen soldier — when the NCOs needed something done, he was the one they asked. They would come back later asking if it was handled, and he would just swipe his finger across the name tag on his chest: Blakely. Eventually one of them said it for him: "I know, I know — it's the Blakester." The name stuck, and so did the meaning. The Blakester is the one who makes shit happen.
